The Phils make it five in a row vs Nats

April 25th, 2007 . by Go Phils

Chase Utley went 5 for 5 and the slumping Ryan Howard hit his 3rd home run as the Phillies beat the Nats 9-3. Lieber was solid only allowing 2 runs in 6 innings and the bullpen did a great job after that. Rowand also extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a single in the 2nd inning.

Phillies make it 4 in a row

April 24th, 2007 . by Go Phils

The Phillies don’t waste a solid start by Moyer and score 3 runs in the 8th inning to pull this game out. Rowand tied the game with a solo home run in the seventh and the bottom of the order finished the game off. The Phillies haven’t lost since Manuel called a team meeting in Cincinnati before Saturday’s game.

Offense comes around Phils win 11-4

April 23rd, 2007 . by Go Phils

Jimmy Rollins and Craig Biggio both hit lead off home runs on Jackie Robinson Day. While everyone wore #42 they could not play like Jackie did. Eaton had 7 strikeouts in six innings giving up 4 runs.

Phils take series from Reds

April 22nd, 2007 . by Go Phils

The Phillies win their first series of the year beating the Reds 9-3 behind Garcia’s 5 innings of 2 run work. Ryan Howard returned from injury to hit a homer and the Phillies have also won 2 in a row for the first time this year. Helms, Dobbs and Ruiz combine to leave 12 of the Philly 19 runners on base.

Wow, Hamels is good

April 22nd, 2007 . by Go Phils

Cole Hamel’s gets a complete game victory vs the Reds only giving up one home run to Jeff Conine in the second while striking out 15! I think the Phillies have figured out how to win, put Hamel’s on the mound. Utley provided 3 out of 4 rbi’s and the Phil sonly left 7 on base, 3 as a team. This is a good win all the way around.

Win blown by Gordon

April 20th, 2007 . by Go Phils

What can you say? Tom Gordon gives up the game tying home run in the 9th and the game winning hit in the 10th. Gordon wastes a one-hit performance by Leiber and the Phils fall to 4-11. One a good note Rowand is hitting the ball solid and Hamel’s gets the next start.

13 is lucky for the Nationals

April 20th, 2007 . by Go Phils

Adam Eaton once again looked bad. The Phillies left 16 base runners hanging and the Nationals end the misery in the 13th with a Sac Fly. When Barajas scores and you don’t win the game you wasted one hell of an effort.

After two postponed the Phils get Rocked

April 18th, 2007 . by Go Phils

Well Garcia got to start in front of the Philly fans after two games with the Astros were postponed on the 15th & 16th. Unfortunately he looked like crap losing 8-1. He only lasted 4 2/3 and the win earned Glavine his 293rd career victory.

Hamels wins again

April 16th, 2007 . by Go Phils

The wins are rare and Hamel’s has 2 of the Phillies 3 wins this year. Not his best performance this year but effective. The Phillies one the bullpen war 2-0 and thats why they won. The 23 men LOB is still a problem.

Houston beats the Phils, what a shock!

April 14th, 2007 . by Go Phils

Another loss this one ended up 9-6. Carlos Lee looked like God in this one hitting 3 home runs with one of them a grand slam! He put up 6 by himself. Oswalt and Myers stunk in this one. The Phils leave 19 on base let by 4 from Helms. Glad to see this one end.
