The Phillies watched their lead in the National League East dwindle to just a 1/2 game after another horrific outing by Adam Eaton. Hopefully the Phillies will not allow him to start another game after he lasted just 3-2/3 innings allowing 8 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks. The Phillies are assured of one sure thing every 5th day. The bullpen will be pitching long innings trying to hold the other team scoreless while the rest of the team tries to put a large numbrer of runs on the board after Eaton has left them in a huge hole. It is time to cut the ties with Eaton and accept the fact that management made a bad decision signing him to a 24 million dollar contract. We the fans can see how much of a mistake this was why can’t the management. Bring up ANYONE from the minors and they can not do a worse job than Eaton.

The Phillies lost to the Diamondbacks 6-4 yesterday. Adam Eaton took the loss after pitching 4.0 innings and alllowing 6 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks. The Phillies insist on sending this loser to the mound and this will be the end result every time. He proved it last season and should not be on the major league roster. I don’t think he should be in a Phillies uniform. Charlie Manuel must be really thick headed to keep running this guy out there. Eric Bruntlett had 2 hits and 3 rbi’s in the loss including a homer. That was about the only bright spot for the Phillies. They did give Ryan Howard the night off against lefty Randy Johnson although he did pinch hit and strike out.

Randy Johnson beat the Phillies with a solid performance after 10 days of rest. The Phils tried to muster a comeback in the 9th scoring 3 runs but just couldnt complete it. Moyer put up a solid effort going 7 2/3 and did allow all 4 runs. This loss completes an Arizona sweep of the Phils. The Phillies drop to 26-27 on the year.
