Phillies 15 Astros 6

May 26th, 2008 . by joe

The Phillies managed to get out of Houston with a series split after a 15-6 win yesterday. Cole Hamels was roughed up a bit pitching 4 innings and allowing 6 runs on 7 hits and didn’t strikeout a batter. He did manage to collect 2 hits and an rbi. The Phillies were down 6-4 in the 6th inning when they erupted for 5 runs folled by a 6 run 7th inning. Pat Burrell, Geoff Jenkins and Chase Utley homered for the Philles. The bullpen threw 5 scoreless innings in relief of Hamels with Rudy Seanez notching the win. The Astros Lance Berkman went 2-5 to keep his average at .385 for the season. The Phillies will be home against the Colorado Rockies tonight.

The Phillies received another excellent pitching performance from Brett Myers yesterday iin a 10 2 win of visiting Houston. Myers threw 7 inning s of 5 hit ball alowing just 1 earned run and walked only 1 wyhile strking out 8. He had his command from the start and looked to be in mid-season form. The Phillies are really counting on Myers to be one of their anchors along with Cole Hamels. The Phillies received home runs off the bats of Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Pat Burrell and Chris Coste who had 4 hits on the afternoon. The Mets are in for the weekend and a good pitching dual tonight with Cole Hamels vs Johan Santana. Should be a agood series.

Jimmy Rollins and Craig Biggio both hit lead off home runs on Jackie Robinson Day. While everyone wore #42 they could not play like Jackie did. Eaton had 7 strikeouts in six innings giving up 4 runs.

Hamels wins again

April 16th, 2007 . by Go Phils

The wins are rare and Hamel’s has 2 of the Phillies 3 wins this year. Not his best performance this year but effective. The Phillies one the bullpen war 2-0 and thats why they won. The 23 men LOB is still a problem.

Houston beats the Phils, what a shock!

Another loss this one ended up 9-6. Carlos Lee looked like God in this one hitting 3 home runs with one of them a grand slam! He put up 6 by himself. Oswalt and Myers stunk in this one. The Phils leave 19 on base let by 4 from Helms. Glad to see this one end.
